Each episode has two parts: 1) Conversation and 2) Consultation. The conversation portion is streaming on all major platforms, and the consultation portion is available to Patreon members. To listen to the consultation portion, join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/c/TheAwakenedTherapist
In the exclusive consultation portion of this episode, Harmony and her guest consult about a case where a client’s defense mechanisms seem to be preventing deep integration. The client quickly moves from idea to idea, avoiding looking at the deeper motive of this strategy. Reactivity and anger add another layer of defense, causing the therapist to feel incompetent. Harmony teaches the therapist how to use this feeling of incompetence therapeutically, and the therapist arrives at a revelation of how they’ve been preventing the therapeutic container of being a place for deeper exploration. You’ll notice that the guest therapist remains anonymous. This is to safeguard client anonymity for the consultation portion.
